Junior/Production Designer

As a junior / production designer, you are a design chameleon. Within a given framework you quickly and efficiently adopt, mimic and build upon artwork. You know the ins and outs of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign and have extremely strong attention to detail. You work on a project once the direction has been established, collaborating closely with our design team to make sure files are tight, clean and ready for the world to see.

If you have experience executing marketing projects from conception to production, including websites, brochures and product packaging, that’s a plus. Ultimately, you will work with the Kitchen Sink crew to support our clients’ brands by delivering high quality pieces on tight deadlines. 

Illustration skills and/or experience with Adobe XD, WebGl, Cinema4D, and AfterEffects are also bonuses – so be sure to let us know if that’s in your skill set!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to design efforts across all media platforms, including digital communications, websites, and emails, marketing materials, print advertising, motion graphics, logos and supporting brand materials. This includes participating in brainstorming/concepting sessions, and performing associated research.
  • Maintain the company’s standards of creative excellence, timeliness, and profitability, while achieving the client’s goals.
  • Develop and iterate concepts in partnership with copywriters and other members of the creative team.
  • Attend meetings with our crew, communicating any schedule or workload issues.
  • Adhere to company process where applicable, or directed by senior leadership.
  • Stay on top of design trends and maintain best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with peers, vendors, and clients as necessary.
  • Manage multiple projects within time constraints, anticipate issues and collaborate to proactively address them.


  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio and at least 2 years of professional experience (this may include formal roles in university, non-profit, or community organizations).
  • A strong knowledge of logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, image selection and manipulation, illustration and animation.
  • Receptive to mentoring, guidance, and direction by creative leadership.
  • The ability to generate a reliable supply of original ideas and visual concepts.
  • The confidence to explain and support your approach, when necessary.
  • An exceptional eye for visual details and accuracy.
  • A good awareness of digital media and evolving online platforms.
  • Fluent in use of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator at minimum.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Work well as part of a team, with a range of people and varying skill levels
